In a secluded bay near the Gaasperplas, this fully bio-based and circular pavilion of the Amsterdam Angling Association will be built. Arriving by foot or boat; the angular shape of the building, with its large, steep roof, will catch your eye. On closer inspection, you will notice that the entire building is made of wood: modified pinewood planks resembling shingles cover the roof. The shutters, the window frames and the modular construction are also made of pinewood and together will create a lovely natural habitat for angling enthousiasts and visitors. The large windows and doors on the ground floor emphasise the feeling of being in the middle of nature.
The transparent ground floor is open to the public; not only members but also visitors can enjoy a drink at the bar. If you look up, you can see the top of the building through the large void from which plants will hang into the restaurant below. The stairs, the planters and the railing is painted in a green color that evokes the image of fishermen’s boots.
