Surrounded by water and nestled in greenery, this unique home is located in Amsterdam-Noord. The spacious addition to our project on Kadoelenweg wraps around the original semi-detached house and strengthens the connection between the house and the garden. At the corner, the eaves extend outward, creating a sheltered outdoor space where you can sit comfortably almost all year round.
For the interior design, we used the home’s existing differences in floor height as our starting point. This resulted in a playful layout with three different floor levels. The intimate, sunken living room forms the heart of the home and also serves as a stage for the music evenings the residents regularly host. Reclaimed oak beams give the spaces a warm, lived-in character. Combined with the wooden window frames, this creates a natural and relaxed atmosphere that perfectly suits this young family.
