Above a former kindergarten (Kleuterschool Tryfosa, built in 1913) lies this completely renovated three-story family home in the quaint Watergraafsmeer neighborhood. Characterized by a natural and muted color scheme. This, complemented by wooden elements and large interior plantings overlooking the various terraces and balconies creates an atmosphere that feels open, inviting and full of natural elements. Subtly implemented curves, both in the form of arches and in the walls, add a sense of softness to the various spaces on the floors.
The existing two floors of the house were expanded with a roof extension that overlooks the rooftop landscape of the surrounding neighborhood while creating a pleasant southeast-facing outdoor space. By completely redesigning the floor plan of the individual floors, we were able to create a unique, future-proof and sustainable house that will be home to this young family for years to come.
