HOP was commissioned to turn this apartment into a dream home. The apartment was fully stripped and the top floor had to be rebuilt in order to accommodate the luxurious rooftop terrace and provide more ceiling height. The living areas, originally found on the 3rd floor were moved up to the top floor, making the rooftop a part of the open-plan living space.

Three terraces completely surround the living area with outdoor spaces; on the front, the back and on top. We wrapped the entire exterior of the top floor with one continuous wooden facade to make sure all three terraces have the same natural look and feel. A fold-away facade opens up the kitchen to one of the three roof terraces within the wood-clad top floor extending it outdoors.

140 m2 + 90 m2 terraces

The custom steel staircase connects the three floors

To make the most of the property - we added a rooftop terrace to be able to fully enjoy those summer days

We designed the exterior as well as the interior elements and detailed them meticulously. By doing this we made sure that all the custom interior elements, like the kitchen, steel stairs, bathrooms, cabinets and bedrooms come together to form the perfect home. The bespoke interior elements make sure this place fits its residents like a glove and turn this place into a truly unique home right in the middle of the city. The centrally placed monumental staircase that links all three floors together forms a point of reference whilst moving through the different floors of the apartment. By designing the stairs to have ultra wide steps the stair is also able to acts as an element for storage or display making it able to hold plants and··accessoires which in a way turns this mono functional element into a multifunctional eye-catcher to be used in many ways.
