In mid-2026, work will begin on the renovation of this houseboat on the Bongerdkade in Amsterdam North. On the outside, the current houseboat will be completely transformed, with new window openings, a new roof and new cladding of the now well-known Shou Sugi Ban (charred wooden gable planks). The interior will include a new living space and an additional room for lodgers in the upstairs studio. The entire houseboat will be insulated to current standards and equipped with a heat pump and heat recovery system (WTW) to create the most sustainable building possible.
