In Amsterdam’s historic center, HOP carried out the interior design of this 135 m² apartment. The project was commissioned by a young couple from Australia, who asked us to create a serene, Scandinavian-inspired interior. Oak serves as the unifying element throughout the home and is featured in the custom-made furniture, the floors, and even parts of the walls. One of the apartment’s most striking features is the spiral staircase that separates the living room from the kitchen. Its elegant, organic shape brings movement and contrast to the otherwise minimalist interior. In this way, the staircase functions not only as a sculptural object but also as the functional centerpiece of the home.
